About

The World Apostolic Congresses of Mercy (WACOM) attract thousands of participants from all over the world to proclaim and witness Divine Mercy – His message of infinite love and hope for individuals and the world. Attendees listen to testimonials, participate in lectures, cultural events, Holy Mass, and will also have time for prayer, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and missions.

The World Apostolic Congress of Mercy, which takes place every three years in a different country, has been held in Rome, Italy (2008), Krakow, Poland (2011), Bogota, Colombia (2014), Manila, Philippines (2017), and Apia, Samoa (2023). The 6th WACOM will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from June 7th to June 12th, 2026.

The Archbishop of Vilnius Gintaras Grušas extends his personal invitation, „Let’s meet at the Congress in Vilnius – the city chosen by God so that through Saint Faustina and Blessed Michael Sopocko the world would be reminded of His Mercy.“

Vilnius - City of Mercy

The spirit of mercy has been alive in Vilnius for centuries. The city has endured famine, plague, floods, fires, and wars. Throughout these times, it was home to numerous monastic communities that for generations cultivated works of charity – caring for the sick, sheltering orphans, helping the poor, and burying the abandoned dead. Though some of these communities no longer exist, the skyline of Vilnius is still crowned with a multitude of church towers – silent witnesses to a deep-rooted devotion and steadfast faith that endured even the darkest of times.

Vilnius is the city where God, through St. Faustina Kowalska and Blessed Fr. Michał Sopoćko, reminded the world of His essential attribute — mercy. In 1934, on the Saviour Hill, the first image of the Merciful Jesus was painted according to the saint’s visions. A year later, in her cell at Vilnius convent, Jesus dictated to her the prayer of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. From here, this devotion spread throughout the entire world.

Today Vilnius invites you to experience your own pilgrimage story. Begin planning your journey – explore Vilnius pilgrimage routes, admire the church towers, and discover other sacred landmarks.
