Logo

The graphic symbol of the World Congress on Mercy is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the visible sign of God’s mercy. It expresses the foundation of the Congress theme, the content of the event, its future projects, and indeed the lives of its participants.

The red and blue colours in the logo are inspired by the image of Divine Mercy, in which blood and water flow from the heart of Merciful Jesus – the source of mercy.

The modern, clean design of the logo conveys a determination to keep pace with today’s world and a vision for the future.

The chosen font reflects the fire burning in the heart, and the subtle heart icon integrated into the Congress title has become the symbol of the event itself – a sign inviting people to participate and contribute to building mercy in their hearts, communities, churches, cities or countries. It also alludes to the human heart won by God, co-creating the City of Mercy.

The letters within the heart, emerging from a white background, are reminiscent of liturgical vestments – clean, sacred cloth and an embroidered alb worn during the celebration of the greatest mystery of Christianity – the Holy Mass. The alb signifies the new life received through Baptism, being clothed in Christ, and reminding all Christians of the garment received at Baptism. Here, the white colour is not merely a graphic choice but an invitation to purify ourselves and shed what is unnecessary within, in order to receive the “garment” of Divine Mercy. Thus, the logo becomes not only a visual sign but also an invitation to embrace a new life in the mission of mercy.

The theme of the event, Building a City of Mercy, is represented in the logo by bricks – not of physical material but of spiritual substance: words. These bricks embody our relationship with God, with ourselves, and with others. Mercy is born from relationships, so by building with these bricks, we are in fact building relationships – the foundations of a culture of mercy wherever we are.

This logo also links the message of the World Congress on Mercy with a special milestone – the first step in the revival of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Congress on Mercy will take place in a unique location – next to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a site that was once converted into a prison and is now entering a new phase of continuing the mission of mercy from the Saviour Hill.
